Motor Swap D.M.E. Reprograming
Ok this is my first time posting anything on a forum so pardon me if I sound like an idiot. Ok this is the scenario my mom blew up her 2003 Porsche Boxster (I.M.S bearing failure) I had not done any research on these cars before I offered to buy it from her. Anyway a month later and after hours of research and a complete motor tear down. I realized probably not the best decision I’ve ever made.
Her boxster is a 2003 2.7 with tiptronic trans. With 70,000 miles. I was able to find a complete car 2004 boxster s 3.2 with 32,000 and a six speed for a replacement motor but the kicker is that my wife does not want the stick and since I sold her on the car as it being something for her I’m kinda stuck on the tiptronic transmission. So my question is. What is the best way to do this motor swap should I use the D.m.e. out of the 2004 3.2 or will the tiptronic trans mess it up. Thanks for any help anyone might have.. P.S. I will have a full car, tons of good motor parts, and a full interior for sale if anyone is interested.. |

Simply install the 3.2 just like the 2.7 was.

Yeah, if the Bosch numbers on both DMEs are the same (0261204790) you will be able to do the engine swap.
