3.6L engine in a 3.4L 996
I see in the Boxster Tech forums that the 2001 Boxster has most of the CAN features
implemented in preparation of the 7.8DME. Is this also true for the 2001 996? I have a 996 3.6L Engine looking for a home and I'm considering picking up a 996. There are quite a few 3.4s having issues and considering options. thanks, Mike

You'll have more fun if you put it in a Boxster

I did an x51 from 05 into a 2000 996, you need an external fuel pressure regulator, change pins in about 20 errors, and run 4-6 from the engine bay to the dme.
You will need to rig up the a/c to work and you will lose cruise control. You will need a 7.8 dme, but that's it really.......you also need to use the original water temp sensor.
