I have the opportunity to purchase a clean 2001 s roller. Engine state is bad/ unknown.

Is it worth 4k?

Also what is a good source for a used engine?

I'd try less...3k. Talk to Jake at Flatsix Innovations. He could rebuild that engine with all the upgrades and even increase engine size. You'll never worry about a used engine failing if you go that route and plan to keep the car.

Depends on condition and mileage of the rest of the car.

I would want to know the source of the engine failure -- that would help you know if your core is
rebuildable or not.

I would expect to pay $5-10K for your engine plus installation for a used engine.
There are various sources of used engines with varying degrees of confidence associated with them.

I have a 2.7 -- but not a 3.2 available.
