On my '04 996 Turbo I attempted to close my top and the clam shell would only open an inch or so on the passenger side only. The driver side would stay down fully closed. Holding the dash switch in the close position long enough resulted in the windows closing and the dash light going off yet the top remained fully down. Is there a way to release or unlatch the driver side of the clam shell or how do I proceed? Thanks!

First try to help the clam shell up while an assistant presses the button. Chances are it just needs a little help. You can also try to reduce the amount of tension on the clamshell by pressing down as soon as the button is pressed, then letting it open. See if those tricks work. Let me know how it goes.
