How does Oil Level sensor work?
Hello,
can you tell me, how the oil level sensor works on a 996 3,6ltr engine? I like to use this engine in another car with other instruments and like to read the oil level. There is a constant resistance of about 10ohm with or without oil, and no capacitive parts in it. It looks like a heated wire with variable resistor. Is that right? Does it get the full 12v to heat? And how long? Do not want to burn it... Never checked oil on that cars. Just a youtube with a measure time of 6sec. So just heat and look the resistance after 6sec? Thank you for your help! Oliver |
