Race car alignment suggestions.

I'm getting ready to take the car in for a race alignment. I wanted to see what you guys suggest.

I use 205/50 R15 Kumho's victoracers front

225/50 R15 Kumho's rear

23mm torsion front, 30mm rear

Koni adjustables all the way around (hard setting)

22mm sway bars front and rear

Thanks in advance

ALignment

Chad,

Did you get it all figuerd out???

I will give you my specs.

2015 Lbs. wet.

23mm T-bars up front.
31 mm Hollow bars in rear.

19mm sway bar rear. ( some tracks I disconnect it)
22mm sway bar front.

Bilsteins Sport (revalved up front, Koni Adjustable rear (full stiff).

-2* camber in front
-2.5* camber in rear

I think 1/16 toe in at the rear, and 1/8 toe out at the front.
I think. Something like that. I could have them reversed.

But I will have my spec sheet with me this weekend or call me tonight and I can give them to you over the phone.

Mark- I already have had 3 people PM me their settings because they do not want everyone to see. I think its kind of funny.

Are those metric "little bits" Jack, or english?

Couldn't resist!

I PM'd mine, it's not so much that I care if youse guys see my settings, but honestly, I'd rather not the whole world....and frankly the first person that criticized them would get a rotten cabbage in their bed.

Jack is actually running 3 degrees negative in back. The front is somewhere between 2 and 2.5 negative. We changed it quite a bit for different conditions, so I can't remember where we last left it.

Also, 1/16th" toe-in front and rear.

7 degrees caster up front

Mine are

front -1.7 (all I can get out of it at the moment, would like -2 , and raised spindles would be nice also!)

rear -2.5 (would like to get around -3.2 if I ever find the time to work on my own car)

6 deg. caster

0 toe-in front

1/8" toe-in rear

There we go. I'll edit the correct numbers into my post, and make Chris' response look strange to future generations.

I still have not been able to get to my log book, so I will psot from memory

23/31 torsion bars
31/27 sway bars
revalved Bilstein (SRP)

Front

-2.6 degrees camber
all the caster I can get
1/8 inch toe out at rim
sway bar at about 1/2 stiff
205/55/16 RA1 25psi cold

rear
-2 degrees camber
1/8 toe in
sway bar at about 1/4 stiff
245/45/16 RA1 25psi cold

No Fear of the someone having the settings, its my driving that slows me down

Why max out the castor? I am getting an alignment today. I was planning on MAX negative camber front and rear zero toe front and rear and factory castor settings. My car is a street/ ocasional DE car.

Shawn,

Castor causes your camber to change as the wheels are turned.

The only DOWN side to castor (within reason) is increased steering effort. More castor increases the negative camber of the outside wheel, increaseing grip. The inside wheel tends to get some positive camber added at the same time, also helping a bit...

3-4 gegrees is generally considered standard.

My car isn't a dedicated race car, but I had Fordahl Motorsport set it up for DEs, autoX, & agressive driving.

Left Front
Camber -1.0
Caster 5.8
Toe 0.02

Right Front
Camber -1.4
Caster 5.5
Toe 0.02

Front
Cross Camber .04
Cross Caster .2
Total Toe 0.04

Left Rear
Camber -1.8
Toe .09

Right Rear
Camber -1.9
Toe .09

Joey, the tech that worked on my car told me he got as much neg. camber as he could, & the difference between camber & caster would cancell each other out. My ride hieght is 23" front & 24" rear with 1 degree of rake, no bump steer. Any opinions?
