Race car project

I'd like to post some images of my project. How do you post multiple images to the site (like cstreit did). I see where you can post jpegs of 65K but mine are larger than that. Can I reduce them or what ???

Thanks
David

Go to your jpeg images in your files and resize them. As you reduce one size, you'll notice the other goes down too. I seem to get in the less than 100k range when it shows 1.9 to 2.0 on the size. Then using the post reply button (one with pencil logo) when you hit attach multiple- you put one pic at a time- hit submit, then attach multiple- submit again and again till you have all your pix done
hope this was clear enough

O.K,O.K here we go.
This first picture is how the car used to look

Then we had a little encounter in the rear with the blue bushes at Watkins Glen. This is a picture of the rear damage after straightening but before changing the rear cross brace.

And here are some more pictures of work in progress.

Just about all the body parts came from Dave B. at TRE who of course was a wealth of information and most helpful during the entire process. I am currently having the rear cross brace area taken care of with a setup that will allow the engine to be removed quite easily. I'll post the pictures of that and more when the car comes back.

Cheers,
David

Maybe I'm late to the party, but why the update? If your already covering your tire package in the prior config, and you didn't take out the front? I was just curious since so many guys seem to be looking for the long hood look recently. Did you just want the RSR look or is it for a performance advantage? No flames intended, just interested. It will look great in its new config on the track.

Luke -

No flames taken. SCCA now allows 12" width in GT-2 for wheels. The max the other config allowed was an 11" and the slicks were just a bit too wide for those RSR/turbo rear flares as well as the fronts. Now I can run a little more tire with this width (13"). I did consider widening out the 9" front and 11" rear to the same width and keep the long hood but by the time I spent the time (not so much the money) doing all that it just didn't make sense. There really isn't a performance adavantage to this bodywork. In fact it may be slightly slower than the other bodywork. But I like it.

David,

That is ever so sweet!

I've been seriously looking at SCCA GT-2 as well and have been wondering how much tire I really need to be competetive... That's a LOT of darn tire!

Thanks for the kind words. I'll post more pictures once I get some color on it etc.
And if I had more height I could go with a 27.0 x13.0x16 slick but it is too tall. So we have 25.5x12.0x16 rear and 23.0x10.5x16 front.

You don't need that much tire to be competive. Now you just need a Porsche cup car (1999-2003) that they have now allowed to run in this class. (They used to run in GT-1). Forget about being competitive just enjoy the racing and stay out of the Winston cup cars way as well.

One final note , the tub is a 1971 911S. Who would have known ten years ago when the guy before me took the car apart and made it a race car.

Going to Hershey tomorrow (only two hours away) anybody need anything ?

Cheers,
David

David:
By the way, before I went long hood, I was thinking RSR as a dream build out of an SC with a 930 engine. How plans change
Now I've gone 2.7 MFI clone RS and will follow on body.
Do you have any plans for those early fenders up front or bumper?

I got to be honest... don't know how I ended up in the thread... I was going over the 911 Tech forum latest threads and next thing I know I get routed to this one...

Did not even looked at the date of the last post. 2004!!!

I hope it was finished, lol... I know my project will take a few years to finish. Back to my cave now,
