Open Track Challenge 2005 - Gonna Be A Hot One

I don't know how official the announcement is, at this point. But it looks like August 10-14. Reno-Thunderhill-Willow Springs-Buttonwillow-Buttonwillow. It would have been nice to see California Speedway instead of a second day at Buttonwillow, but they also brought the entry fee down a little.

The Official Link.

Li'l Black Stubby is still considering its class options.

Jack, Why did they change the date? I thought this was a spring event for them. I was hoping to catch you guys when you make the south end of the event.
And remember, dark colors need cold water!

No idea why they moved the date.

I guess the one benefit of the change is that the picture of my car will stay on their website an extra four months.

Slap some slicks on it next week and see what she'll do.

I think it'll take at least a 1:25 to have a shot at winning Unlimited.

Maybe it's a conspiracy! The corvette guys got together and figured the only way to beat a Air cooled Porsche would be in hot weather.

Actually, that's a major advantage for us, and serious problem for them!

Porsches don't overheat. Corvettes and Vipers leak colored fluid when the track temps get above 100.

We've got a lighter car with more rubber, (easier on tires) and no cooling issues whatsoever. This definitely plays in our favor.

Oh thank God for that 37 degree A/C system!

Hans, you're just jealous 'cause the only A/C you have is that cute little squirt bottle with the built in fan.

Dude, I can't wait 'til we get your car back out on the track! Dave's /6 is being steroided out, and my '69 has gotten quite a few mods as well. It'll be fun when we can all duke it out at Willow with OTR and Alfa Club. Maybe we can all finally breathe down Jack's neck a little, and make better showings in his track videos!

Jack, you need to send that pic into Grassroots (if you haven't already). The like pics of their name on cars and I think they would get a kick out of this one.
