OTC: am I nuts to consider it?

yeah, I'm broke, and my poor car is only 180hp and has an oil leak, and I'm still figuring things out behind the wheel, but....

I'm thinking about thinking of running OTC this year if I could find a co-driver. I know I wouldn't be competitive (looks like I'd be T3), but it seems like a great way to spend 5 days.

am I nuts?

I would suggest a cool shirt at least then. This event is in August right? All the tracks are inland correct? Its going to be HOT! I mean Africa HOT.

Thanks for the recommendation Jack, but I am sure Todd wants to have his car back in one piece.

Actually I would really like to do this event, just not this year. I hope they can continue to put it on and maybe in another year or two I will have enough seat time and $ allowed to make it happen. I am going to try and sneak out a catch you guys at the track one day to watch.

Bad news. I just found out the Open Track Challenge is not going to happen this year.

OTC 2005-No Joy

It is with great regret that Zen Five Productions, LLC announces that the Open Track Challenge has been cancelled for 2005. The current number of entries did not meet our expectations and would not support the tremendous cost involved in running the event as well as the effort required to run the event. All current entries that have been accepted will be returned along with any checks or credit card numbers that were submitted along with the entries. The partners are currently in discussions for alternative plans for 2006, but the event will not run this year. Travel safe and be fast.

There's some talk of an improvised 'Ghetto-TC' about the same time, where a bunch of guys sign up for a string of track days and keep track of times.

Todd, you and I had similar times at Willow....and no, I did not total my SC at the track I may have some time and $$ soon, so give me a hollar. Of course, I'd have to come in from out of State

Infineon but not Laguna. Laguna will probably also never be in the OTC for two reasons:
1) very expensive track to rent
2) they have sound limits

cool....that could be a go. But the drive from Portland on a Friday night to do Willow on Saturday morning would be a killer. I think I'd pass on portland and do the rest...I'd like to do Sears Pt.
