It only stores a handful of laps and then throws them away. In order for it to work at all, your group needs to have upgraded to the latest AMB system (PCA hasn't, for example). I don't think it replaces a guy in the pits telling you who's ahead of you and what traffic/obstacles/flags are between you and him. It also doesn't replace an Ultralap or other lap timer. But it's still a pretty neat gadget.

I like the idea alot, but it is pricey. In the class I run, SCCA GT-2, my 911 is already at a disadvantage to the newer cars, and I have yet to get down to the allowable minimum weight (2080), so I thought about it, but I just hate to do anything that even adds a few ounces. I guess I could go on a diet.

I thought my side business was "UP S*&^ Creek" when I saw the AMB lap timer..... but when you look at the AMB timer, it is VERY limited. 1). Only stores the last 24 laps (a joke) 2). Like Jack mentioned, groups need the latest software for it to work (Costs Money$$$) 3). Will not work for the guys that go to track/practice days (Willow Springs Fridays) because they do not run AMB and do not have the software. 4). Very Pricey! Looks good though. Would be great for Enduro's so you could see your position. That's about it though

Too Expensive for what you get, Does not store enough laps. No computer download option like the Ultra lap..
