PCA Lime Rock Race April 24-25

Looks to be a very full race, even larger than prior years. Rumor is the track is 1.5-2 seconds faster, so I suspect that the prior track records will fall (see records & predictions here: www.rennpoints.com)

Track is defintely fast and smooth! Most classes are running a bit quicker, more in the 1/2 to 1 second range. In C1, the practice times are in the 58s, so we'll see if we can hit 57s in qualy. I kinda miss the huge bump in the downhill .

Unbelievable 85F and sunny at LRP in April....

I'm used to standing in two inches of rainwater in 40 deg temps...

Nice clean racing in all groups.. LRP did a good job getting Scottos car to a safe spot, letting the Yellow race resume quickly

No sandbagging by Charlie, be he had me covered even if I did catch him. He ending up running an impressive 57.6 in the enduro vs my best of a 58.4 I think.

I wish Bob had a radio ad I could see the gas pouring out of the car on the pace lap. I tried to get the attention of a flagger, but to no avail.

Andy's car had a few teething pains, but 2 new rear bearings, an oil line, and he was able to finish 3rd in the sprint. Not bad for the new car!

Berger sold his car, so he's out of C1. He's building a GT4S car and is planning to make the NJ race later this year. I'll miss racing him.

There were some other impressive drive. Mike Pierra ran a low 54 (54.2?) in his 997 cup. I talked to him after and he thinks with some setup changes that a high 53 is possible. That's just stupid fast. Fred C was his usual insanely fast self in his SC...he did a 1:00.8 I think. I think he may have spent more time passing people in the dirt than on the track.

Now off to start preparing the car for Watkins Glen.

Here's a little of Bob's WWI style gas attack, and my race with Keith Komar & Charlie Boyer: http://gallery.me.com/cmazzola#100084

Good video. It looks like the times you tried to pass the C2 car really killed your momentum but you got him in the end.

Even though I scattered my engine all over the front straight, I achieved perma-grin!
