2009 Cayman S Track Wheel/Tires
For DE's, I will be driving to/from event using "Extreme Performance Tires" track tires.
R/R stock wheel/tires with track wheels/tires at home prior to driving to event. Reverse when getting back home. Same with brake pads. Street-->Track-->Street 18" wheels for street and track. Street set-up is stock 235/40 - F; 265/40 - R Using Hankook Ventus V12 evo tires What size wheel/tires would you recommend for the track using "Extreme Performance Tires". i.e., Bridgestone R-11's; Hankook R-S3's or Michelin Pilot Super Sport's on 18" wheels? -->Width ? Offsets? Track pads - Pagid Yellows Thanks in advance |

I've seen 11s on Caymans so fitting the 10.5 should be no big deal, not sure of the 9.5s though 8.5 ET55 and 10 ET42 are oem fitments and would work almost as well

10.5 is no problem on the rear, aim for around a 38mm offset and it will clear even with aftermarket coilovers. For the front a 9.0 et51 or et44 is you change to upper camber plates or GT3 lower arms and get 2.2 or more degrees of negative camber.
You can also move to a 245/275 combo. We have build many to those specs and ran the 9.0/10.5 combo on our own Cayman S. Cheers

Just don't go too far outside of the stock parameters. The PSM&ABS don't like it. BGB fought with the ABS system for the better part of a season because of the tire size they were required to run in Grand Am.

The issue is with mismatching diameters not widths. Keeping the relative front to rear diameter ratio close to the way the car came keeps it all working properly. With the above mentioned sizes you have nothing to worry about.
Cheers

Yes, it's a diameter issue.

If you run the 245/275 combo, there is no better off the rack street legal tire than the
Nitto NT01. UTQ of 100, and I guarantee you will get twice the track days AND GRIP on them then any of the above listed tires. If you get some negative camber in that car, you might see 8+ track days on a tire you can drive back and forth to the track. Run them till you see cord! Kuhmo V710 and Hoosier R6 offer better grip, but you might only see 4 track days out of the 710, and maybe 3 out of the R6 with both not being street legal.
