968 Performance Possibilities
I'm relatively new to the front engine Porsches but with lots of flat-6 background, and I'm intrigued with the possibility of picking up a nice '94 968 Cab. I've always felt that the Porsche factory short-changed the USDM by not offering the RoW suspension performance options that were available to other parts of the world.
While any autocross or track time is relegated to my past, I'm curious what performance-oriented upgrades are available/recommended for spirited daily driving. And while handling is my top priority, I have 1st hand experience with a couple of my cars that were supercharged with the neat Rotrex unit and feel that they are absolutely amazing when well done on a daily driver. I'd welcome any suggestions addressing specific performance-oriented questions, as well as what other Forums which might have a more in-depth 968-specific focus. |

If you haven't already, go onto the 968 specific forum in here and post this question. You will 100% receive a reply from someone who goes by the username Flash968. He has a 968 Cab that he has spent many years modifying. Also has a Supercharger kit. Be a good place to start.
If you're just after a nice little street car then the Cab is ok, but anything more than that and you're starting with the wrong car. Go for the hardtop if you're going to track it. Even then it depends on what you want from the car and how deep your pockets are. I have a friend who has a 968 motor in his racecar and has just dyno'd it at 620whp at 1bar psi. These motors do have a lot of potential!

You're at the top of a long slippery slope.
You should run a couple of track events before you spend any money on the car. Most people run one or two track events and then never come back. Richard |
