Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix
Porsche was well represented at the 32nd Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix held on the roads of Schenley Park, in a field of almost 250 cars.
From the cab of my Coarse Crew truck I counted two 356's, seven 914's, fours and sixes, three 911's, one 912 and one 924. It rained, misted, poured and drizzled on Saturday. Miserable for the drivers of open cars and terrible for the car show on the golf course. Sunday was typical Pittsburgh summer weather. Hazy. Hot and Humid. But boy did the crowds come out and the racing was great. The PVGP is the only racing event other than the Monaco G.P. that his held on public streets. People who were there, very closely compare the Schenley Park venue with the original street circuit in Watkins Glen. This is a bucket list weekend guys. Make plans to be here next July.
