FS: 1969 911T Targa

I have decided to sell my project car, 'Stinky'. She needs a little TLC to get her to being a good driver. As is, she is drivable. The only functional thing that might keep it from passing inspection is the reverse light switch. Will probably need replacing.

The car is a 1969 911T Targa. Very solid tub with only a few minor rust spots (more later). It's engine and transmission are from a 1970T, and it has a new clutch (less than 1k on it). Zenith carbs. Starts and runs, but probably needs the carbs rebuilt.

Rust - there are a few spots in the floor pans, but the areas are not brittle. One area is about where the driver's left foot would rest, and one is at the back behind the passenger seat. The only tricky area is at the back of the passenger side door jamb. It looks like water pooled there and rusted all the way through.

Body - the front fenders are very straight and in great shape. The bumper still has the original trim and bumperettes. The hood, however, has had something put on it which caused a noticeable indentation. The doors are both straight and open/close fine.

Top- The top is dirty, and should be recovered. Does have the two handles. The Targa seals are in very bad shape and will need replacing.

Rear fenders - see below. I have a set of full rear fenders from a 73 that I intended to have welded in to replace the original fenders because of the dent on the driver's side and bondo crap on the passenger side. Also the 73 fenders are a touch wider, which will fit better over the 15x7 wheels (imitation Fuchs).

I do also have a set of sway bars from the 1970 donor car. The front will bolt right in, but the back does not have the appropriate mounting hardware.

As pictured, it does have a pair of Recaro sport seats in it. Everyone who's seen 'em likes 'em! The steering wheel is a smaller size Dino wheel. (I wanted to get a Momo Prototipo to put in there!)

Along with the fenders, I have an extra windshield since the windshield in this car is pretty scratched up. The other windshield is not perfect, but it's much better. I also have a few extra gauges out of the 70, and the dash, which is not cracked (but was painted on the edge) and a knee pad/board. I do have the original door panels and handles and all the trim from the back, however it is all out of the car at this point.

I want to be very up front about this car. It IS a project car, but for someone that has the time to put into it, it could be made into a very nice driving car pretty shortly.

That exhaust is not on the car, but I still have it. I put the original '69 muffler on it. The engine/trans is from a 70. Ignition is a Procomp, which is a copy of the MSD.

You can see the condition of the paint here. The body is straight and solid. The imitation 15x7 Fuchs sure look nice on her. Driver's side is pretty much the same.

The top of this fender arch is mostly bondo. The other side has a dent aft of the wheel well. I have a pair of fenders from a '73 that were intended to replace the rear fenders for those reasons, plus they're a little wider which will work better with the wheels.

I don't have a whole lot of pictures online, but more can be seen here.

I'm asking $8500 (negotiable) for everything. Buyer arranges shipping. (the extra parts may need to be shipped separately)

I will candidly answer any questions. Please email me, though, since I don't get on Pelican much. Best address is defilade1310 AT gmail DOT com.

Make an offer... I'd like to see this thing off to a new caring home!
