1974 Porsche 911 Peru Red 60k Miles
1974 Porsche 911 Sunroof Coupe VIN :9114102801 Color: Peru Red 042 Motor #: 6144820 ![]() This particular 911 was purchased new at the Porsche dealer in White River Junction, Vermont (Al Alden Porsche Audi). It was with the original owner until being traded at the Ford dealer in late 1981. The second owner purchased the car and has had it ever since. The car has obviously never been driven in the Winter as the bottom shows no corrosion or rust damage what so ever. With just over 60,000 miles showing (documents show this to be actual), the car was parked in a heated building at the start of Winter in 1991 and has not been taken out until I purchased it this July. Photos are as I have found the car. ![]() The car received a marginal quality repaint in the mid-Eighties. There has been some repair work on the front fenders. The front bulkhead and pan are original and show no repairs. The rest of the panels are original and very good. The trim is also all present and in very good condition as is the hard to find rear reflector panel. The driver’s door handle is stuck in the open position in all the photos. This has been corrected. ![]() The optional ATE “cookie cutters” are in very good condition with the correct center caps. The front brakes are the optional aluminum “S” calibers. That was a pleasant surprise. There is a partial toolkit present. The interior is in very good condition. The dash shows a few small cracks and the headliner has pulled back from the sunroof opening. A good upholsterer may be able to repair the headliner. The door panels are very good as are the door pockets. The seats, front and rear, are excellent. Carpets are also very good along with the gauges and steering wheel. This is a non-A/C car, so no damage to the smugglers box or other associated issues. The motor does turn freely. A new battery has been installed in the car, but I have not attempted to start. However, I did turn the key and the fuel pump works. I pulled a spark plug and it looked good. Also, the oil is clean and does not show intrusion of moisture. A change of fluids and I see no reason why this motor cannot be reawakened. The bottom of the motor is damp with oil from sitting, though no visible leaks. The stock heat exchangers are rotten, however the early style muffler is in good shape. ![]() Overall, this is a very honest, solid, and clean mid year 911. 1974 is an interesting transition year; narrow body, 2.7 motor without the thermal reactors and other troubles, early style dash and shifter, and small rear bumperettes. ![]() Very good and easy entry level 911 project. Car is located in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. I can deliver the car within New England for a reasonable fee. Offered at $22,900 or reasonable offers. Additional photos are available.
