Very rare and rarely offered high end Speedster build by Intermeccanica; arguably the premier Speedster Replica constructors.* Original build cost in excess of $90,000.* This is a modernized replica of the iconic 1958 Porsche Speedster.* While this car walks and talks like the real thing, under the body there is a completely modern drivetrain with a completely rebuilt liquid cooled and turbocharged 2.5 liter Subaru motor making some 240HP.* The motor is, like the original, an opposing 4-cylinder cylinder (boxer) configuration, so the weight is low in the chassis.* The motor as 4-valves per cylinder with dual overhead cams, a custom turbocharger, Kinetic Motorsports intercooler and a custom center outlet exhaust.* Power is conveyed thru a modern 4-speed transaxle with a reverse lockout shifter.* Along with a modern chassis, powertrain, suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes this Speedster has modern amenities on the inside as well.* These include air conditioning, AM/FM/CD with Bluetooth, power door locks and roll-up windows, and remote keyless entry.* Additionally, because of the modern engine management system, there are no cold startup issues or atmospheric driven problems that can often be experienced with carbureted motors.
