Cayenne speed sensor

Hello. My dad may need to change the speed sensor on his Cayenne. Anyone know if he can do it on his own or does it need to be done it need some kind of calibration that only the dealership can do?

I had it done at an Indy that specializes in Porsches. It appears they had to resent the computer when they installed it, requiring special Porsche repair gear. All of my computer settings were changed and they cleaned up around the monitor indicating they had to do some calibrations.
