The Fore and Aft travel is not working, I have the seat tilted back but can't access the motor so suspect I will need to remove the seat. I have checked the switch, it is ok. In the forward direction I can hear a "knock" which I assume to be a relay or solenoid, in the aft direction there is no Sound. The seat doesn't move in either direction. My understanding is that the yellow connectors under the seat are for safety or airbag control.
My Questions are: Am I correct in surmising that the voltage polarity is swapped to reverse the motor direction is that done by a relay? if so where is the relay? Is there a micro switch or sensor that stops movement at each end of the travel rod? Should the battery be disconnected before disconnecting the yellow connectors? Appreciate any help or Guidance. |

Update
So I went ahead and removed the seat, tested the motor with a 12V supply. Motor runs in both Directions. Checked the harness by inserting the 12V at the plug (pins 7 and 8) again motor runs in both directions.
So now looking for a new switch assembly. All I can find online are switches with memory. My Question : could I use the memory switch type ? I suspect the plug wiring may be different. |
