Thumbs down foggy head lamps

my husband runs the Cayenne register for the PCGB and has been getting some owners having problems with the headlights misting up. is this unique to us living in the damp old UK ?

It is considered normal for the headlamps to fog up.

not in the UK infact its very dangerous when you live out in the countryside away from street lighting.

BTW we don't have this problem on ours. and the dealers change the headlights on repeat offenders...so i really don't think it can be classed as "normal"

Hi Hellen.

2 years ago Porsche North America issued a bulletin on this issue. There is a desiccant bag in the headlight to absorb moisture. The bulletin says to replace this bag. It also says not to replace the headlights because they are not being damaged by the moisture.

So it looks like we have the same issue in sunny USA. I might be able to send you the Cayenne bulletin if you want to see it.

Can't tell you more since I am a Boxstir guy. There is a similar bulletin for the Box but it says the condensation is normal and will go away when the headlights heat up. The Box does not have a desiccant bag. Jeff

Hi have excessive moisture and failing headlights in my 2016 Cayenne, anyone else have this issue? What is the best way to resolve it without repacking the headlights?

It might not be fog. It might be smoke!

We just replaced both headlights on our 05 Cayenne S after finding this mess everywhere:

The insulation had just crumbled off almoat every wire despite the previous owner's best efforts.
