Pagid brake pads and Zimmerman rotors
Anyone try these yet? I need to setup a complete brake job on my turbo, our host sells Pagid pads and Zimmerman rotors at a slight discount over OEM. Anyone try these? I can't imagine that they squeak any less than the OEM stuff does.

i went to an autoparts international store for jobbers and bought their branded rotors and pads for my turbo. 2 years on the fronts and rears. work great and no noise and minimal dust. really cheap too

That's good news about the aftermarket stuff then. I'll buy from Pelican, just tradition for me. However I may wait for my next "web certificate" before I order since I just ordered a new suspension for the 911 the other day.
Any squeaks?

I've had issues with the weights on the pads being loose from the manufacturer. Not a big deal, really. Just swedge the rivets down a bit more.

I've used them without any problems, fronts and rears. I haven't had any squeal at all.

Well I was going to dive into this job but the FSM and the dealer both say to wait for the light to come on then you have another 2500 miles to get the job done. So I'll procrastinate for now and finish on the 911's suspension.

You can always just use a flashlight and LOOK at how much pad life you have left...

I took the wheels off actually, and visually I would replace them on a normal car, however in this case it can't hurt to wait for the sensor to trip.

i bought the same set up from our host. Has been great so far, I think it's been almost a year and maybe 8k miles? Replaced the brake fluid with the ATE super blue as well and freshened up the paint on the rotors. Good opportunity to clean up in there while its taken apart. Also, very easy DIY. Have fun!

I'm on this in a few weeks, I need to reassemble the suspension on my 911 first.

OK, Cayenne brake job in the bag! I ordered the Pelican "Basic Brake kit" and it had everything I needed except for the fact that one of my front caliper bolts got messed up during the job.
The front caliper bolts are very, very soft and I recommend you just replace them all as per the service manual. So far the Pagids are quiet and low dust VS. the OEM pads. No squeaking or squealing. You will also need: Torque Wrenches 10ft/lbs to 200ft/lbs 19 mm socket for wheel bolts 13mm Socket for the Retaining Bolt 21mm Socket for the front Rotor Bolts Torx-50 for the Rotors You will also need 2 Triple Square/XZN Bits for the rear brakes, M5 and M16. The cheese heads I had because they are the same for some of the 944's I've owned but a good set is cheap on amazon.
