Door Issues and Lock/Alarm Issues
Hey Yall....
So, i've widdled down the issues in the car. One still is bugging me quite a lot. Press lock button on key fob. Doors lock, Horn beeps, Red blinking lights fire up on the doors. Leave for a bit, come back and the blinking isnt happening. Press button on fob to unlock car, Unlocks all doors but drivers door. Press button again. Locks all doors, Blinking starts up. 2 seconds after the blinking slows down, press button and ALL doors unlock. So it seems that when the blinking is going on, doors respond correctly. After some time tho blinking doesnt blink any more. Where should i be looking? Kessy? Alarm? Ecu time out? Basically seems like the alarm system is going to sleep or something. Honestly its a pain for the wife, I've figured out a method, I have to Press the button at 10 ft away (unlocks most doors). Press it again immediately (to enable alarm system again and "wake everything up " ) and then when im at the car, Press once more to open the car properly. haha.. what a process... Any help would be appreciated. Ive read a load of forums with no answers. Also, side note, starting today the drivers door is not latching closed properly. Bounces back to a semi open but not completely sealed close state. Takes a lot of swearing and slamming to sort it out. I greased the latch and seems to have ironed some of it out. Wondering if its electronic or mechanical in nature. ?

Have you checked under the comfort menu?
Also, when my battery died, I had to go back in and reset these types of things. These are there "auto lock" "auto unlock" etc.

Door lock
A defective door lock/microswitch in the door lock can cause quite some issues.
The door lock is not only simply there for opening/closing the door, it also contains a switch telling the car weather the door is opened or close. In my case, a defective door lock caused: - alarm not switching off prior to switching on ignition - interior lights not being activated when opening the door - memory seat settings not automatically being recalled |
