320 i caliper swap for Squareback

Hello.
I've read the articles covering the 320 i front brake caliper conv. for 914 cars. Apperently the early '70-'72 914 's accept the 320 BMW calipers without any mach. work. Can I use the same BMW units on '73 type3 front disc brake setup? I've been told that the late type3 front discs and calipers are the same as used by the early 914 cars. Will the stock VW mastercylinder (19mm) work with the 320 calipers?

you probably could get away with using your stock MC but you may need to add a proportioning valve, to get the balance right.

I once had a n early type 3 with the drum brakes, so I know little about the later ones.

Thanks for your response ViolentBlue.
You did a beautiful job with your car. The style is really my taste. What size are the Phonedial wheels on your car? Probably 7 inch wide 52 mm offset late 944 ones??? If so what rear brakes did you use? I'm asking this because I'm trying to figure out if I could fit Phonedial wheels ( 7 inch et 52) and early 944 rear brks. under my 1303's stock wings. Thanks again.

these are early 928 phonedials

15"x7" all the way around
these are rather mild wheels so there should be no problem fitting them under your fenders, considering the super has more room under there than my ovalwindow does.
