1988 Carrera 911 Rear Axle Question

I'm in the process of a LS conversion on my 1988 Carrera coupe and I'm using a 2002 996 6sp trans. My question will the stock 1988 Carrea axles fit the 996 trans? Please advise and thanks in advance for your response!

Did you try Renegade Hybrids on that question. I don’t know myself. Sorry.

I read recently that they do match up, but it seemed like there was some clearance issues in the pre-964 cars.

No longer impossible! 996/997 transmission onto air cooled engines!

For the early chassis - this is not a job for the faint of heart! Requires completely cutting out the areas between lower control arm mounts, torsion bar tube etc. I already had coil overs and don't care at all about the useless backseats, so not a concern for me. The rear seat "hump" must be changed to 964/993 style "high hump"
