i have talked to Ben at Retrosport here in the US about taller 4th/1.04, 5th/.80, gears for the 996 trans. They/Albins already make a taller 6th/.0625. he talked to albins and they said yes if we get a group buy of at least 10 of each. i have also talked to Roger at CMS Transmissions about it. currently cms is building my land speed/top speed gearbox... yes i already have the 3.00 ring and pinion. but want to see 250-260mph ultimately. if interested in a taller 4th and 5th gear contact
ben or Roger

I put a taller gear in my 89 911 LS1 to help with cooling on the highway and a nice drop in RPM's. Certainly helped. It does have a whining noise that one notices when driving which is normal for any aftermarket gears.
