VW motor in my 73 911

Hi ijust bought a 1973 911 with a blown 2.4L and i wanted to put a vw motor in it. Its more reliable and cheeper since the car isnt stock anyways. If you coul help me whats the best motor that will hook up to my tranny and how much modification will i have to do and is it costly?

Pretty straight forward swap.
CHECK this page
Just need a throttle cable adapter of some kind, an engine mount bar and a way to seal up the engine tin- if you care that much.
I don't if 74' had a 915 tranny or not...
Make sure your clutch fits the input shaft of teh tranny before anything.

You should be able to sell the 911 parts for enough to set yourself up pretty good too!

wouldnt recommend it

your doing a backwards swap and end up with a head ache. yes it is cheaper in the long run,but harder to maintain on a reliablity issue. the look of it on the end, doesnt look right.

HI just find a 912 that is bent at the front and take the engine and box out , it should have a 411/412 VW engine in with all the fittings.

regards mike
