Post 944 trailing arms/914 tranny ?

Will the 944 trailing arms fit on the 914 tranny? I know they fit on the stock VW IRS tranny, but how about another porsche?
Thanks,
Cale

I don´t know if the 901 fits in 944 trailing arms,

But I know that 901 fits in VW bug, and vw bug trans fits in 914 and 911 trailing arms.

Then if the 944 trailing arms fits in vw trans, also fits in 901 trans.

What do you want do ?
I´m wondering

Good luck

assuming this is going into a beetle:

yes the 914 (901) will work together with the 944 trailing arms, its just a matter of driveshaft length.

however the 914 tranny is not the best choice to use in a beetle, I considered this for my project since I had one already, but the amount of fabrication needed to make it work would be prohibitive. best bet would be an early 911 (901) or a later 915, making this work on a beetle is much more strait forward.

man, this post was old I posted this something like 3 months ago, and since then, I've found out all I need to know, gotten all the parts, converted the 914 to a 911 nosecone and shift rod, and flipped the ring, also got 944 trailing arms and all 4 rotors/calipers (from a 88 Turbo S) :P nice big 4 pot brembos with 12" slotted rotors!!!! All I have to do now to get it all installed is finish a little work on my trans am and then weld in the IRS brackets....I have to finish a little work on my new 78 T/A before I get back to the bug.

Thanks,
Cale

Cale, I know this is an old thread, but my brother just picked up a set of 944 brakes and is going to install them and a 901/915 in his Beetle. Do you have some links for project information that would be helpful. We have the Kieth Seume book but are looking for more. Thanks, Michael
