Planning a VW/Porsche Conversion
I'm looking to put a porsche 911 motor with a 915 tranny, into either my 76 or my 70 VW Bus, any tips, suggestions, websites to check out?
I have a friend who did this recently and I want one now! Need to find a motor and all, im located in Surrey, B.C. Canada, any leads appreciated! |

use your 091 76 bus trans with super diff and kennedy engineered products stage 1 flywheel/disc/ pressure plate. this combo will do 120 mph, bus won't, but eng trans combo will aircooleds

My mechanic and I put a 3.2 w/5 sp (from an '86 911) in my '68 crewcab a few years back. We started with a 2.4 to get it set up then switched to the 3.2. I had both motors. If you can, use the 3.2, much better torque. I prefer the 5 sp because the gears are closer and 5th gear is like an overdrive. Check the 911 used parts section as complete motor & trans come up for sale. Be prepared for a lot of custom fabbing.
