AWD Split Screen

This project started out as a simple Porsche powered split screen camper van and then I asked another forum if anyone had built a AWD Splitty and was told it was way too complicated. So obviously I went out and bought the running gear and trans from a 964 and the rear suspension from a 996. Now it's just a case of putting it all together !

Will post some photos up soon but there is a thread ongoing in the 964 forum.

So this kinda the idea, 964 gear box links to one off torque tube, links to front diff, sits under bus, turn key, drive off.

Good idea, KISS.

How are you going to do the front suspension? Single or dual A-arms or van-again synchro stuff?

front suspension

going down the route of using the 964 front set up. Makes it easier for the drive chain. So keep 964 wish bones and subframe and bolt onto new chassis rails.

So you have something more like this in mind...
