Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous in the most awesome way possible.

"After removing the Porsche engine & transaxle it was a simple matter of building motor mounts, CV joint adaptors and axles, a custom radiator and exhaust system."
Sure sounds simple...

I knew a guy that did the 455 into a VW Bug many years ago. He took me for a ride....He had to feather the throttle to set the front wheels down and make steering corrections....He was a Automotive engineering student.....

Wow this is amazing. I was laughing out loud when I saw the faux luggage. Genius!

I had Fuzion tires on my lowly VW Golf daily driver and I thought they were garbage - rock hard - I can't imagine them on this car. I get it that he probably goes through tires quick. Full marks to the guy for creativity.

I recall the Toronado kit for 912/911 advertised in magazines back in the day. Claimed better balance though not sure how.
If this car is still for sale it's been on the market for at least 3 years.

Banned but not out, yet..

Went to all that effort and it still has an automatic? Must go like absolute stink, but if you can't row the gears...

The torque of that V8 must twist that old Targa like a piece of rubber... The suspension and brakes still looks like factory. Not very professional... And who wants a classic 911 with an automatic?
This looks to be a very expensive build, but it doesn't make any kind of sense to me. |

My take is this: I wouldn't build it, you wouldn't build it. Who ever did build it, built what they wanted, so go ahead and make whatever you want and enjoy it.

I would remove all that luggage so I could lean the seat back... oh wait...
In all seriousness it is one of the nicest conversions I've seen. A novel way to cover that giant motor.

LOL....I thought it was a typo! I thought it was a thread about someone putting a "3.2" in an SC!

The faux luggage is ringing a bell. Seem to recall something similar, from a decade ago or something.
Transmission might be the most disappointing thing. I'd want a little bit more of a firewall than some cardboard lined in heat shielding. |
