What's '76 3.0 engine worth?

Hello,

I have a 1976 3.0 liter complete long block. Lets assume it needs a rebuild. What's the fair market value on these now?

Bryan.

PS
Yes, I'm talking about the same aluminum block used in the 930 and pre 911sc

Hi, it will depend on condition and if all parts are there....do you have a pic of the entire engine to make a more informed valuation?

Depending on how much is there, there are people that have paid $9-$15K depending. I have seen some go higher ($20K+), but I believe this is the area that they usually trade in - but not many are for sale so I would shoot higher.

It was in my car when I bought it 15 plus years ago. After driving it for a few years, it developed a pulled stud(NOT broken as is usually the case). I had several engines in those days and I could drop one out in less-than an hour. So I pulled this and forgot that it was a 930/02.

I have maintained it by keeping Marvels Mystery Oil in it and turning the crank. The engine is not stuck.

I'm in Chicago.

What a nice donor for a screamer short stroke 3.2!!

So many people have no idea what they are leaving on the table when they take the American bigger is better attitude and stuff in a 964 or 993 engine

The dentists demanded a less Porsche like motor during those years
This would make a great more Porsche like motor!

Ouch. That pulled stud knocks $3-4k off what it is worth since it's a full teardown and case machine at this point. I would say it's worth $8-10k given the stud and the fact that it has a re-cammed E pump on it.

would prefer "A" broken stud over a pulled one 8 days a week.

I'll also be getting rid of a 68 912 that is a non-running project. I'm never going to get to some of these projects

it's a coupe. Front pan has been replaced as well as the seat pan. When I bought the car it was being worked on. It comes with all the sheetmetal that was going to be replaced. Its been indoors all this time. Some parts have been powder coated.

It will take me a week or 2 to take pics. I just decided this morning, that it was time to let it go.
Ill put up a proper ad, when I have the pics
