"Tesla powered" 912

Apologies if it's been posted already, but I want to make sure this abomination does not go unnoticed.

https://www.omaze.com/products/zelectric-1968-porsche-911

What the actual ****. Why defile a perfectly good longhood with a ****ing "Tesla motor". Shame on whoever did that.

IDK, I think it might be cool depending on how heavy it was and felt. Just think, no more oil on the garage floor!

This way you can have an old Porsche that will NOT get out accelerated by a modern Camry.

Win win for everyone.

I'd rather drive that than a real Tesla.
And how do you know it was a "perfectly good" longhood to begin with?

I want a Vonnen hybrid like the one they had at Rennsport. A Rothsport 2.5 coupled to an extra 100hp electric drive in an RSR look G body.

Without engine noise, all you will hear is all the squeaks and rattles. And wind noise if it’s a targa.

True, but I see no mention of superduty-in-burnass-climates a/c in that car, so the E912 would be sucking hind teat when it comes to cabin comfort in TexASS.

Why the hate? That thing is awesome. There are $50k motors running around here that can't beat that. Electric torque from stop is intoxicating.

It probably gained some weight, but it'll be distributed better than stock.

Why the hate? Because electric cars suck, and defacing a classic piece of automotive history with electric crap, and Tesla crap at that, is depraved.

You have 2.5k posts, surely you realize that Porsche enthusiasts get excited over zenith carbs and MFI tuning and that kind of stuff, which is the antithesis of electric motors?

And it's not about "beating" anything. A Honda Odyssey would handily "beat" a 356A. So what? An Apple phone gives the exact time more accurately than a Patek Philippe. Who ever bought a longhood thinking "I wish this beast of a 50 year old car could smoke a Viper from a stoplight".

Wow. That’s some hate.

I’m all for diffeeent strokes for different folks. When I buy a car it’s mine. If I want to deface it, too bad. It’s not some museum piece. It’s not number 1. It’s a car and how I see beauty and play that out in my own garage is fit for me to decide. Haters be damned.

Ah yes, prejudice!

Because you can't love the scream of a wide-open flat-six and the serene catapulting of a monster EV.

Because you can't love a good heel-toe shift and the marvel of efficient simplicity that is the modern electric drivetrain.

Because hotrods are dumb, unless they're the way you would have built them.

Because modifying classic Porsches is sacrilege.

I'm sure a Taycan is a fantastic machine in the context of electric cars. A longhood with serene catapulting motors is like a patek philippe with heart rate monitoring.
