Gen Z guys who don’t know how to drive a stick are buying a lot of these cars. I’m seeing it in the JDM market too. The importers are bringing in Supras and Skylines and Zs with slushboxes all the time. I read the comments on cars and these guys just gush over the car and the “if only it were a manual” comments are less common than the fan boys ready to buy it now.

Really?!? I haven't seen these cars here on the roads for 10 - 15 years in Japan. Importers aren't bringing them in all the time. You may be talking about junk that is on American dead stock shelves. I dunno, certainly you read the local/domestic JDM stuff.

Japanese Classics has been bringing in a lot of SUVs and VIP-type cars lately, where a few years ago they were almost exclusively sporty cars. They currently don't have any sports cars in stock, closest thing is a couple of low-trim Skylines.

i don't put people on "ignore" here because the notification that they've posted only makes me wonder what they have attempted to contribute. that in and of itself is more of my attention that one might warrant. ive just decided to skip over whatever nonsense seanie post and never fulfil his desire to be noticed by replying. it has really improved my quality of life and the experience here greatly. im a few weeks in and it's working out great.

speaking of attempts to be a provocateur, where ol sweetstump been? you think like me he may have been banned for this forum exclusively like ronnie was in PARF for a long while until recently? ronnie was let back into PARF and that's why he's not over here much anymore i reckon. now, ronnie? count me as one missing his provocateurmanship in these parts..
Ronnie was banned from PARF for a time? Really? I can't imagine that. If that is true, he like pnutz is no longer part of the Never been Banned club am I right? How did he get banned? Unbelievable!

i follow a number of 4x4 market place sites on social media and the value of older toyota SR5 4x trucks from the early 80's through the 90's are crazy expensive even for high mileage models. at least in areas where rust is not a huge problem.

let not even get started on how much it takes to get a landcruiser. Nick has one that im not sure what it's worth, but they are akin to the 911 in how they've held their value, and even increased over what they were new 25 years ago.

Talking out your arse as usual. I watch the auction sheets daily. And then I follow the actual importers on social media as they import the cars. This is here and now. You don’t have a clue what you are talking about.

The older FJ's have been expensive for years. The boxy, jeep looking ones for you uniformed.
The FJ60's and FJ62's (1980's) have more recently gone up in value. Mine, an 88 FJ62, would go for $40-60K or more on BaT, depending on who wanted it. An original owner truck is all the more valuable today.

Hysterical really, when all I wanted was a 4 wheel drive wagon for my wife to haul the kids around in back in the late 80's. There were no SUV's back then , so it was this or a Wagoneer, and I never liked Jeeps.

yes. one of my best friends not named seanie-max told me his bro-in-law bought a 20+ y/o or so landcrusier (i don't know any of the FJ nomenclature) with nearly 200k miles and paid in excess of $45k for it recently. my buddy not named PMAX was amazed of what he paid. i said not having seen the thing and with my limited knowledge that seemed about right.

that mid 80's waggy (what we jeep folk call the wagoneer) has axles that would be worth $4-5K for the pair right about now. very desired for older, leaf spring suspended jeeps like mine. wished you'd bought a waggy that was all rusted out cause getting those axles would be like catching a unicorn in a home made trap...

OK, Maybe... I'm not talking out of my arse, just speaking from intuition based on what you said i.e. posted above. I don't want to start another issue/argument between us. Not my point at all. You said importers are bringing in all the time supras, skylines and Z's. I guessed you were talking about slush boxes/automatics?

Trend is to the contrary based on what I said. Certainly there are cars still here in the wood piles that eventually come up at auction, for years to come, but very few and far between on the mentioned cars. Don't forget either those cars can go to other markets too and not the USA -- many bidders here from all over the world.

I will consult some of my friends who daily buy cars at auction, the cars you mentioned and give you some feedback on that. If you can produce some auction sheets or name the importers you talk about we can compare data. How about that? If I'm wrong, I don't mind losing. I've always been a very competitive sports player when I was younger, yet if I lost, I was a good loser.

Titling at windmills again, Bern Quixote.

I've been posting cars to the JDM thread for years. Go look at JDM Classics for yourself and see what they are bringing in. I don't care one bit what you think is happening. The 25 year rule has expired and people in the States want, and are buying, all kinds of cars right now.

Aight Matt... Agreed, 25 year rule has covered most coveted cars that fall in. The rest are still uncovered like R34 GT-R but those are already gone or spoken for. Leave it be. Remember too that I'm not against you, I'm for you. I still need to google that name Bern Quixote. I'll do it today/tonite...

I'm glad that you aren't hiding me i.e. you're ignore list is worth sh-t!! I'll do my best to be cordial to you in the future. You give me sh-t? I got a wheel barrow full ready for you!

You have shown yourself not to be a very good listener. I never said anything about GTRs or V-Specs or anything special. Those cars were never autos in the first place. What I said is that they are bringing in Skylines, Supra’s and Zs with autos and many in the younger generation see the auto as a good thing. And somehow we end up here...

Here’s an example for you.

https://www.japaneseclassics.com/vehicle/1994-nissan-skyline-type-g-limited/?fbclid=IwAR2EaoYPPPJvfmtclYJQ5AyGwHsDe_uC8zrbeOPu Mp44KRyfEjq2xl3z0EI

It’s nothing special. It’s not $60k like a GTR would be. Cars like this, and Integras, and Silvias, etc etc are all coming over in slushboxes. Cars that once had zero enthusiasts interested now are interesting to guys who can’t drive a stick.

Your bigotry is part of what got you hidden previously. If this was an in person conversation you would have just gotten knocked to the floor. I’m dead serious.

Can't take a joke M2 is what you are. If you were in my presence you would be on the floor. What a prude... and I was being friendly just a few minutes ago. You have a problem M2! You need to lighten up and stop being a MPF bully. That is what you are at times and everyone can see that.
