No worries buddy, just caught me on a down day.

Ryan, I have been given the authority to comment within this thread, without any psycho/sexual BS which is intuitively monitored by the OP. I would say, take it easy like the Eagles song. Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy. Moreover, in this pandemic, I always think of people globally who are going through a tough time. I may be fortunate in some regard, for instance that I have a job still, food on the table, even a few friends I can call. At the same time, it is difficult to be socially active and it is a bit crazy and makes me think I'm going a bit crazy on a given day.

Ultimately, you got to keep the faith, take care of yourself. Look ahead and see the light that is on the horizon. No harm done here on the M2 thread. Sorry if I made you feel bad. M1 was the guy who started this.... all about women who would be uneasy and miss a man they could never have. It was never their fault. It was mine. I was too selfish about a dream. Stay close to your dream, and even if you don't have one momentarily, you'll certainly come upon a good one if you just dream.

That is a great year and a splendid color! Someone will snap it up. It's all timing and all ya need is one person in the groove. Take your time and wait for him (or her). GLW your sale Matt!

I bumped it because a couple people asked about it. Made finding the thread easy.

We are starting to see some spring weather here. The plan over the next few weeks is to clean it up inside and out, put the bumper back on and the seat back in, and headlights, and then photography. I'll make a real FS listing and put it out several places for a bit. If it's still not sold by April I'll dump it on eBay.

Good luck with it, I'll post a link to it on my Facebook page if you want.

As I said before I think that's a perfect car for the DYI guy with some time on his/her hands and comes at an opportune time of year.

He/she can pay to have someone do the pan. Then he/she can get the motor cleaned up and functional without a lot of down time. Then they've got a Gulf Blue no S/R hot rod driver (no garage queen here so its actually usable) for the summer that's fun to drive enthusiastically (what DYI/Pelican doesn't find that appealing ) as you address the interior and pick away at other needs to whatever desired standard. Then next winter strip and paint to take it to the next level if need be.

I think at this time of year and post covid isolation there should be a customer base for a moderate level project air cooled 911 like yours....

I sold an SC engine I had out in the barn for $8,000. It took 15 minutes on FB marketplace and I had 3 buyers lined up.

This has got me seriously considering parting the car. If a mouse piss covered 3l can bring $8k, what can a bastard 3.2 do? I've got a ratty core 74 2.7 I could still sell with the car making it a "complete" project. Just spit balling here.

Facebook marketplace is a good place to get rid of stuff quick. I put a 66 Mustang on there and it was on a trailer and gone the same day. It was a heap, and I sold it super cheap, but it being gone was nice. I had already pulled the motor and gearbox for my 65, so needed the parts car gone, again, it was a heap. Not sure if I would use Marketplace for good stuff, lots of knuckleheads on there, "still available?"

Oh my... I remember when you bought that. Sorry about your health and the cars too.
Me? I would donate it. Easier on the pysche not to look at life's mistakes.
If your day job's income warrants it... much better to donate and get the rusty eyesore off the homestead. A lot of hassles involved in parting a car especially for someone in poor health.
Peace.

Vote #2 for Facebook Marketplace for cheap low end stuff, sold my wife's KIA Sorento with a blown motor. Put it out there for $1900, sold it to the 2nd guy for $1500, and had 30 responses in about an hour.

Unobtanium what would you pay for this?
Make Matty an offer an offer he can't refuse.
Surely you two seasoned experts can come to a meeting of the minds.

Brisboats, I gave Matt my valuation earlier in this thread, I don't think we saw eye to eye.

The guy who bought my 73 914 is picking it up tomorrow. He’s bringing a pocket full of cash and might take some or all of the 74 project. If he passes I’m in no hurry. Now that spring is here, it’s just an afternoon to drop the engine out and sell it and the gearbox for $10k or so.

not to speak for adam, but him being in NY it'd likely have to be a smokin deal to go that far for.

I can’t remember what thread had the SVX.

914, an engine, and some spare wheels are gone. Sold my VW 385 kit too. I’ve got an offer on the 996 GT3 RS perlon seats. I just need to decide if they are for sale.

Still have the blue car.

That would be easy, Matt is a regular dude so I could count on him to pack the car and work with a shipper. But again, he isn't in a hurry and needs a retail buyer, which, with patience he can find.

Sold my old Z4 by linking a Craigslist add to facebook market with a drive video - sold first weekend at ask and had more action than I needed.

Just gonna throw this out there...if someone has a decent running driving 914 or a targa roller that doesn’t need rust work AT ALL and wants to trade drop me a line. I’ll take your $12-15k car in exchange for mine.
