Time for me to sell, how's the market for a M491 w/930 motor

Will spare the reasons but ultimately it's time I pass the car on to the next owner.

It's been awhile since I've actively checked the market, wondering if some on here might advise me to go classified, consign thru a local shop, or just BaT.

Located in NW Atlanta.

1987 M491 Nautic Blue with G50 5 speed
Has a 79 Cali 930 Engine in it, runs well
All top end / fuel system has been redone, every part from tank back to engine
New Bosch fuel pumps, shifter rebuilt
Injectors cleaned, Bosch fuel injection system completely redone and sealed
Every rubber part throughout the intake system replaced
New Tial Wastegate, new plugs, wires, CDI+ installed
CV joints, clutch cylinder replaced
Entire suspension changed to solid bushings, aligned and corner balanced
KW 2way adjustable digressive shocks, soft or hard as you want
Front shock tower bar
New blade fuse blocks installed
LED interior and exterior lights (excluding headlights)

The only issues present are:
- AC, gets cold but leaks out quick
- Headlights are okay but not as bright as I would like
- side mirrors sometimes don't adjust

I'm not in a hurry and could wait up to a year to sell if I had to.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Pricing is way down from last year. Check bat for similar cars.

I say try to sell it locally. While fantastic on paper, that engine won’t pass smog in a bunch of markets, including CA. I don’t have any idea on price though.

This is one of those cars that’s worth much more than it’s worth, if that makes sense. M491 guys don’t want a turbo motor, 930 guys only want a 930 VIN, and nobody wants non-numbers matching (for the big money). This is the car Porsche should have built in 1987, but unfortunately it’s not.

Really cool car and still worth a ton, just well south of stock 930’s/m491’s. I’d be shocked if you can’t get over $75k for it.

I remember when you were looking and ultimately purchased this car. At the time I thought this had a lot in common with my own car. I was on the fence about selling and was happy when you made this purchase. You have done a lot to this car which should help it bring a premium price. I always look at what a nice M491 would bring and what a nice 930 would bring and put the value right in between. When pressed on mine I reply that a car like this is worth +-100k on any given day, but I'm not ready yet.
I would try Pelican Classifieds before going to Bat.
Good luck with the sale!

Hell yes!
An M491 is a castrated 930, you added the balls back! What you have is the coveted '89 G50 spec 930. The only thing that would make it even better is if the Motronic EFI has been left in place. THAT is the 930 Porsche should have built! Take a look at G50 930 conversion prices, I would think yours would be in that category even though it was done the other way around.

GLWS

The Porsche they should have built/optioned would be a narrow body with the turbo motor.
