FWIW. IMHO
the '94 has the less attractive (newer-style) cup wheels, ugly aero mirrors, usually more gizmos.
i would buy a late '92, all things being equal.
buy a really nice one, in a great colour. way better than money in the bank. guaranteed.

I was wondering the samething. I cant imagine offering 30 and then walking away over a grand LOL. Its not like you're going to drive over to the next dealer and they'll have the same car. Sounds ridiculous.

It's silly, but those newer cup wheels are a deal breaker for me.
They make the car look like any other modern Miata.
I have no problem with the newer integrated bumpers people complain about,
but the wheels really make it lose that classic vibe more than anything else.

That is my thinking on my 993. I think the rise in prices of the early 911s might push 964 and 993 prices up if it hasn't already.

Just did a scan of the german market. The "driver" 964s are between 25-35k euros. The good ones probably have an average price of 45k. RSA about 60k for a decent driver. 120+ for a euro RS.

Ironic since they were much cheaper than the standard C2 in 92.

Good 5 speed coupes, C2's, with all the great mods done will fetch in the $40K's very soon. The value is there! Early DNA with power and torque and imminently tweakable! Last great air cooled 911 (sorry 993's, my .02) The cat is out of the bag for sure on these. There is a 225 page thread on the Early S Registry all about these amazing platforms. Rennlist has been waxing poetic about these cars for years. It's day in the sun is upon us. Get them while you can!!!!

The era of the cheap air cooled 911 may be ending in general

I think you are right. Never selling my 964. Looking to add a 993 instead.

The market for 964's is very strong right now, a nice no stories 94 C2 coupe right is a steal for under $30k. Hell folks are asking $30k for good 74-77 coupes, they have been some of the most hated 911's ever. 964's are not everyone's cup of tea but they have attracted a rapidly growing fan base over the last 5 years.

My 964 is the only car I've ever owned that I have said to myself that I'll never sell it and I've owned everything from a 356C to a 914-6 to a 997 C4 GTS.

I agree with the previous post that anyone who doesn't think that the C4 964 is the best of the 74-94 cars has never driven one. I think any well cared for C2 coupe is easily a 40-50k car in tomorrow's market. Show me another car for 30k that can make me grin like a C2 964....

Hi all,

I am very interested in buying a 964 coupe, preferably a late model in black or silver.
Please contact me if you know of one for sale. qstevens60@gmail.com
