FS a concours / museum quality 1986 coupe
White on G coupes is really growing on me and its nice when occasionally a car pops up and seems to be priced fairly in what has become such a speculative market. Provided it's as the seller says a completely unrestored low mile example. Even though Burgundy is not one of my favorite interior colors it somehow seems just right on this car. Shame about the radio 'upgrade' but I do like the car. I really like plush burgundy trunk liner Ho ho. I'm curious about how much its been used, but if I was in the market for a pristine example. Wonder if maybe i'm talking myself into a G series coupe

I Know the car and its owner very well. It is exactly as described. Considering some of the coupes that are listed at 30k plus in this current market, I think 'priced fairly' is a bit of an understatement. If you look at the exterior and interior condition and compare it to other so called 'low mile' cars you can see how a sub 50k mile car that's been really well cared for should look. IMO its one of the best examples available. Agreed the radio needs to be switched back, but i think the speakers are period correct Blaupunkt's. I'll give you even money it will be heading to Europe back and its spiritual home LOL.

While I think many people will debate the value of the car, thinking $38k is all the money for an 86', that it's still a 915, that the interior color is not super desirable, etc,etc.. I personally think its a bargain and feel confident it will sell fast at that and take a ride across the pond. The only nitpick I wold have is that it clearly is an east coast car so the undercarriage has some scale and patina a dry state car wouldn't have.

I would buy it if I didn't already own a twin to this car with 17k miles on it. I'm not selling mine, they are only original once!

According the inflation calculator, $40K in '86 is $85K today, so at his asking price today in 2013 it is half of what it originally went for. A bargain considering condition and how well kept it is. Buy it.

I was luke warm on white when I found mine, but the bright red (not burgundy) interior sold it to me, made it more unique. I subscribe to the cult of interesting color combinations. Burgundy is more interesting that black, but in my opinion the dash being colored rarely looks as timeless and sporty as an all black dash. Just my opinion.

Price is up there, for a non G50. I'm not G50 obsessed but let's be honest, they are worth more. Why does it have sugar scoops? Thought all USA cars had H5's?

H5's didn't come until 1987 on US CARS, look nice but totally suck compared to H4's! At least they look better than the sugar scoops!

in the pics, the interior looks like Lobster, not Burgundy.

Red is a great interior color. I don't comprehend how this is worth the same as a comparable 993.
