Wow, makes me want to make him an offer without delay. Not sure if I'd call it arrogance as much ignorance and stupidity. Reported the post for having no price.

When I read that ad for sale ad I wondered if I was the only person who thought that was pretty arrogant..apparently not. This selling of Porsches lately is getting obnoxious.

Just a "fishing for offers" ad. Might or might not be a scam.

It doesn't comply with the "you must list a price" requirement of the classifieds but does that make it "arrogant"? More likely just "ignorant" ;-)

We get posts here on the Marketplace all the time saying "I'm thinking of selling, how much is my car worth", how is that different? I think in a lot of cases those posters may just be fishing for offers too.

Cheers

d.

EDIT: I just noticed that he spelled "Porsche" wrong. Now THAT is arrogant :-)

Anyone in the market for such a car is free to call or not. No harm no foul.

No more 'arrogant' than the rampant WTB ads or the '100K 911T for sale' ads.

No, just stupid and contrary to the clearly-posted rules. Ignorant.

I'm in the ignorant camp. I bet he's tired of the dealers and flippers by now. They are probably the only ones to chase an ad like that.

Agreed...and yea, I love the WTB's that say "want original paint, low miles, 1-2 owners" but only willing to pay 25- 30% below market rate.

I'm with Pmax as well.
Probably someone fishing, not knowing what the market reality is. There are lots of adds which have stupid (really stupid) pricing. I think the stupid pricing is arrogant, but this is simply ignorance.

There was an add in my local craigslist 2 years ago for a fly yellow 965 priced at $100k. That was arrogance. When the market took off he bumped the price to
$200k and added "must sell" to his add. I think this defines arrogance.

This illustrates the risk of typing stuff for public consumption. Is there arrogance behind the words, or just an inept communicator?

More often than not, when people feel emotion behind messages, the emotion is at least partly injected by the reader.

If you're not finding arrogance in the OP, here's some served up on a silver platter:

Gonna have to help me out with that one, 911SauCy. Looks like a regular WTB looking for an SC in an unusual colour. What am I missing?

Cheers

Maybe I'm thick skinned but I saw nothing arrogant about either ad, 1 was poorly written the other was a guy that had already purchased his and is assisting a friend who's wanting one too.
