I refused the plaids and the worst, the HUGE cuffs on the bottom of slacks, like the photo I posted above. For most of the time I was OK in Levis 501s which did not have the idiotic bell bottoms, but I HATED the stupid button fly.

I had to wear slacks and a sport coat to go to the state capitol and photograph the senators and house members making the laws. And to Governor's Wallace's office when he had a press conference, or made a state of the state speech. It was dang near impossible to find "normal" slacks in that era, except the slacks from a suit.

Those fashion designers of the era needed a punch in the nose and motivation to get back to normal fashions. I really feel sorry for women. The fashions changed fast, and the prices were nuts. All just to sell more clothes.

Eff all the fashion designers.

Levi was a designer with no fashion in mind. How things changed.

Not sure I’d be so excited to hold onto the label. It’s derogatory. It signifies excess and narcsssism. As a GenX, I’m perfectly okay with the fact that it’s a justified insult..

But I'm so glad I was born in '60 and grew up when and where I did ... warts and all .

I would NOT trade it for any other time... 'twas the perfect sweet spot...

My 93 year old Mom has the same sentiment. I think we are all more comfortable with the life period we experienced.

I’m not sure they’re as ignorant as you believe. As a GenX with two really smart GenZ kids, Boomers did us pretty dirty. Your response sort of reinforces that,

I'm an Xer, too...don't really see the angst with 'Boomers. They did a lot of good and some bad, just like every generation. And the period of history they lived through...yeah, some pretty cool times.

Actually it is more of a reflection on the character of the person that uses such terms (regardless of generation) than the target of the user's disdain.
