Porsche 996.1 O2 Sensors
Hello All
Working on restoring my 2000 996 cab tip to the best shape. While working on the exhausts O2 sensors, and after numerous researches I was convinced that all 996s have 4 O2 sensors in total, 2 pre cats and 2 post/on cats. When I went under the car and checked just to confirm, I can see only 2 O2 sensors pre cats, with no bungs post/on cats. Even when checking on the engine shelf i can see only 1 O2 red/black connector plug each side, no extra wiring hanging there. Went back to check online and found out that there has been a setup from factory with 2 O2 sensors, with old DME that reads only 2 pre cats O2 sensors. Anyone have ever seen this before? Any idea if this is really the case? or Should i assume the old owner has cancelled them, and worked around it to cancel the cel light? |

I believe that there is a difference on these O2's with early cars to RoW and US cars - latter most likely due to California emissions.

Thank!
Looks like it - My 996 is RoW. I just want to make sure the post cats sensors were not cancelled by the previous owner. |
