Cool It's Official: "Mid9" our mid-year car club!

Okay, folks..it's official now! The voters have spoken..after several polls with a couple dozen name contributions from pelican members around the world, we have a car club name for mid-year guys (1974 - 1977)!

A big thanks to everyone who has contributed to the process with suggestions, votes and even a couple of non-middie owners who lent their skills as graphic artists to give us some great logo ideas to work with (steve aka 'project911' and david aka 'darisc').

One of the next orders of business will be to decide on a logo..and very soon we may have access to a site where we may list our members, with information on how to 'officially join'..I have an idea on that..more on this though as it develops..

So, the 'official name'...."Mid9"

Ryan

Well done everyone!

Like was already asked, where do we go from here? I'd suggest we ask our Pelican host if they'd give us space for a Mid9 Wiki -- a collection of the gruppe's knowledge on the mid-years.

“Wiki wiki” means "rapidly" in the Hawaiian language, and wiki on the 'net stands for "what I know is". Seems like a natural...

Very good! I also think the "MY911" was a neat acronym but would probably come across kind of pretentious.

I dig the Mid9 moniker!

Congratulations to all you MID9ers!

And thanks for the opportunity you gave a non-middie owner to contribute to your quest for a club name.

I'm sincerely honored that MID9 won your poll! Corny as it sounds, makes me feel real good!

MID9ers! - kinda' catchy sounding, if I say so myself!

I wanna buy a t-shirt, coffee mug or SOMEthing to display your club name.

Steve B.'s logo looks great and I think it's very adaptable to a Euroval or Euro plate shape as well, if members want such.

Congrats & thnx again.........Gotta go now........

David

And now you have a theme song...I was going to suggest an oldie by Jerry Lee: "Whole lotta shakin' goin' on"

it would look good on a shirt..and would make a nice logo, if everyone can agree on it!

Did some more goofing around. Someone mentioned an oval shape. Looks a little more Euro I guess. The shaded ones would be more for a web site. I'm trying to stay simple with the flat versions so they would be easy (cheap) to reproduce as a sticker, vinyl, t-shirt, etc.

Just some more fuel for the fire.

Thanks-

There are so many variations available with this, let alone if people want to see it in other color combinations... I hate to complicate this, or make more work for you.
I PM'd you earlier offering web design if you need it. Not sure if it got through to you.
