Sweet pics -- BTW most or all of them are off the Blue Angels web site I think.

I have been doing a lot of work for Boeing, including the St. Louis plant (F/A-18 and F-15) and some of the stuff these folks do is awe-inspiring and truly patriotic.

I am scheming of ways to get a back-seat ride in the new 2-seat F model. I don't know what it will take but it is very high on my list of "must do's"!

The Blue Angels are soooo cool..

They are in Seattle this weekend. Today they were practicing a bit early, a fact I discovered as I was driving near downtown Seattle, and there was a loud ROAR of jet engines screaming overhead. I looked up and watched 3 of them flying west.. they did quick nimble graceful turns and within seconds they were going back overhead again. It was freakin' awesome!

Tomorrow they practice again. I'll be sitting outside Tully's on M.I. during the lunch hour, watching them as they pass by, less than 100' off the ground.. so close that you can see the pilots' faces! I'm sure they can see me smiling and covering my ears.

I wonder what kind of cars those guys drive.

Excellent snaps, Island! It was awesome. My back is sore from watching their long straight-up spirals, but I just couldn't stop watching.. I couldn't believe they could hold that for so long!

I was watching from the top of First Hill on M.I., and one of the Blue Angels flew knife-edge about 40 feet over my head. The sound was beyond words! I couldn't believe it. And I couldn't restrain a scream of pure visceral ecstatic joy! Wow, what an experience. It's too bad the show is only once a year.

Ahhhhhhh, El Toro! Spent some of my best years in the Marine Corps there. Damn near cried when I first heard they were closing it...DID cry when it finally WAS closed. That place had some wonderful history!

I got to ride front seat with the Ray-Ban aerobatic team once at an airshow in Cleveland. Did all their show manuvers..man it was truely better than sex! The plane was only a Pitts biplane though. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be in the seat with The Angels in jets. Got to be awesome!
