nj/ny/conn/spring fun run

Hey all adam usually gets these things together, but his wife is about due to have a new baby. So with the help of all of you that want to attend,Ill start this post and we can sort out the meeting place and destination idea. Last yr we all got split up and there was never any firm place to drive too I think are meeting place is perfect off the palasades, But this yr lets figure out where were going to end up. I was thinking the end of April for this. Any suggestions let me know.

Nice Paul, thanks for getting it started this year! No baby last night, but we're getting close.

I'll throw out there that considering it is baby time for me, the later in April, the better, 30th or May 1 would be the best for me....Also Passover is 23rd 24th so that is definitely out for me.

Sounds good to me as long as you don't mind a "water-pumper" taging along!

Beautiful car Gary, welcome to the board, check out this link to see pics from last year's run, there were Porsches of virtually all models in attendance!

Im definetely in for this one, it will probably fall sometime during finals week at school but im sure i can take a day of, it was great fun last fall. Unfortunately my 912 is not on the road yet (dont worry, Im making progress, just hard to find time while im away at school). However, my dad just picked up this 944S2 today, so you can expect to see us in that.

For inspiration - the pics thread 10/16 NY/NJ/CT Run - OFFICIAL PICTURE THREAD!

Last time around, the group got fragmented... maybe a more-set itinerary this time around? Like, "okay, we are going to terrorize this mountain route for two hours... if we get separated, meet at XXXX at 1PM" or something like that?

Yeah, I agree on a meeting place for lunch. We can decide where and when at a later point, but it's a great idea. I have borrowed much of our past routes from this link. Take a look, and we can piece our own together. I agree also that a may date would be much easier for us to attend. It will be warmer, and I'll be able to take the top off of the car provided we don't get crap weather. I suggest we make a rain date for the whatever weekend follows our original date. For now, we should have everyone interested email me at jbripps@aol.com with their contact info, basically include your email address and describe your ride. Then I'll discuss with Adam and see who will maintain the list, but for now, I'll get it started since his wife is due any minute with the second? kid. If someone wants to cross-post this on the other boards, including Rennlist, that would be great. Let's get as many models as we can......we want the waterpumpers too, so don't be shy.

Good luck Adam! Hope wifey is doing well.

Sounds good! We had a good time in the fall. I'm sure we're all due for a nice run thru the hills again.

Let's try to do a "California style" run........with a mandatory stop at a donut joint.

Why don't we make a blast up to New Paltz and have lunch at the Mountain Brauhaus, a German-themed restaurant at the edge of the Shawangunk mountains?

I am definately in.
John, The Brauhaus would be a great destination. Plenty of parking, great scenery, good food, and maybe a couple of cold ones too.

Hey,

New Paltz sounds fun, I'll look into that. Funny that Mohawk Mountain House is mentioned, I'm going there tonight!

I remain,

That looks like a nice ride from here, about 70 miles. Is that where all you nuts will meet, then its off from there?

Sounds like a blast!

Mohonk is a beautiful place for sure. Perhaps lunch there could be fun. Or a brewery in New Paltz. Either way sounds like great fun.
