4 post lift points
Can one of you dig up a diagram of where to place the pads on a shop hoist for an 81 SC. Four pad style.
I am getting the exhaust done Sat. and I don't think the shop has a drive-on lift. I have already tried the search button with no luck. thanks Wayne ![]()

Should the car be lifted precisely where the red Xs are or should it be lifted where the nearby round holes are at the end of the white arrows?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I would like to know for sure where the proper lift points are. |

Where the white arrows meet, not the "exact" placement of the red "X" that just denotes the vacinity.

The x's are approximate, Get as close to the perimeter pinch welds as you can. W/ the SnapOn rubber lifting blocks I can actually left on the pinch weld w/o damage, W/ wood or hockey pucks you want to lift on the flats.
For my Audi I actually modified some p/u blocks that fit on the pinch weld. From the left modified p/u pinch weld block(Audi specific), flat p/u block, SnapOn rubber block ![]()

I'm with Bill on the rubber lifting blocks. They're very adaptable to position and create a great connection between lift and car. ![]()

Bill, thank you very much. Can you tell me if these dimensions apply to '72? What years will they apply to?

Those specs are from the '84-87 manualand should be good backmto '72. The basic chassis didn't change much(though there were some critical changes like the jump from 915 to G50 in '87) over the years
