WTB- martini stripe kit or replica of it?
anyone have a source on this style of striping?

If you have good photos then your local vinyl sticker manufacturer should be able to custom make them for you.

I've been studying Martini schemes for over a year. Each model got it's own interpetation. I know you have one in mind that you want to show a pic of, but unless it's a straight pattern down the middle, the compound, convex currves will make the application of vinyl difficult. And due to the scale of most of the designs, it would be a mass of vinyl. I came to the conclusion that painting it on would be easier. BTW, do you have color matches for the midnight blue, baby blue and reddish orange? I was surprised at the orange on one interpetation at GAF.

If you can find a model kit that has the stripe setup you want, buy the kit & send the decal sheet to a vinyl stripe maker with a measurement reference to have it scaled up. The vinyl should stretch enough to make a fair fit.
If you don't have a vinyl stripe maker, I recommend TG Race Designs in Alhambra TGRaceDesigns@TGRaceDesigns.com

there was a silver sc targa on the bbs some months ago and it had the simpler side spears , similar to the brumos side stripes, but on the sides of the car only. that is what we are after
great suggestion on the scale up of model decals, but that would be for the more complex full treatment (like Mitch Rossi's car at GAF) we are after the more subtle (!) side stripes only |
