'70 911 T 4 Sale/ Trade

As much as it kills me to, I'm putting up my Aubergine 70 911T for sale, or trade for a 944S/ S2, 951, or manual 928S. It's currently my daily driver, it still has the proper 2.2L T engine, and a recently rebuilt 901 5 speed and a new clutch (done by DuMont's in Oklahoma City).
Car is Aubergine with Black interior, it has been resprayed at some point in the past and looks good from about 20 ft, and the front valence has some stone chips. Polished deep 15x6 Fuchs , new Falken Ziex 205/ 60 R15 with maybe 500 miles on them. The car has a later spoiler and rear valence panel with Porsche reflector, as well as later flag style mirrors. All chrome/ stainless is in great shape except the front bumper-ettes and the rear window trim.
Interior is in good shape with the exception of the headliner which needs replaced. New dash, good solid door panels/ quarter panels, rear deck has some of the normal distortion from the sun. Back seats are in good shape, the seatbacks need carpet on them though. Carpet is still decent, good color with a little fraying here and there. Front seats I believe to be from an SC, they currently have sheepskin style covers on them, the seats themselves need re-covered. All gauges/ lights work except odometer and horn, no door speakers as the ones from the PO were shot and poorly installed, wiring is there though.
The car runs great, no smoking and pulls strong. The mechanic that did my PPI (Cory Jump @ Planet 9Eleven in OKC), said that it pulls strong for a T, I did not have a compression test/ leakdown done however. The car has oil fed tensioners and Weber carbs. After repairs (see below), car has small leaks out of oil return tubes, other than that it's dry, and doesn't smoke. 901 shifts well, good enough for my wife to drive without problems. Overall the car drives well, as I said before it's my daily driver, brakes and suspension work well, and have no problems. Reciepts for $3248.54 from my ownership, transmission rebuild/ clutch is the only reciept from previous owner however.
Rust : exterior rust is in the lower corners of rear windows, one side is just bubbles while the other has cracked the paint. Lower passenger side fender, passenger side door skin has a couple bubbles down low, small holes in the rear of both front fender liners, very small hole in driver's side floorpan. Small holes in far front section of front trunk, suspension pan and battery boxes are solid, as are longitudials and torsion tubes. None of the rust is serious to compromise the strength of the panel, I believe it can all be fixed by patching in new pieces. I've tried to describe the car as best as I can, but I have no doubt omitted things, feel free to PM or email me with questions, jessup3@cox.net. I'm going to start at Bruce Anderson's valuation for a "poor" 70T at $7500 OBO, or entertain me with trade offers, I believe this car to be in far better than "poor" condition. Thanks, Matt

Matt,

That's a nice looking car. I think you will be able to sell it for somewhere near your asking price.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family. There are other P-cars out there, but you are chosing to do your best by your family. That's honorable and rare. Good luck.

Matt if you want to stay in the Porsche game, but have a daily driver that is cheap to maintain, you might want to check out this '69 912. May be a good buy: 1969 porsche 912 coupe

Kurt, thanks for the lead, I just don't think going older would really help with some of my concerns as far as a daily driver goes. I plan to do my best to stay in a Porsche, even if it's (gasp!) water cooled. Totally OT, are you going to the Heartland Park DE in April?

A couple of people have asked if I am going. If I do, I probably won't run my car as I am not a PCA member. Is it any fun to just sit around and watch? What weekend is it in April?

I'm not a PCA member either Kurt, I just thought it might be fun to go check out some cool Porsches, and maybe meet some like minded people. I'm not sure if it's any fun to watch though, I've never been to a DE. It's the weekend of the 27th, also my birthday, sounds like a good gift for me.

No Cliff, that's the mother in law's car, the family car extraordinaire, she's mother of 10! My wife's the oldest, I don't know how they cram the 7 that still are at home in there?! My wife has a 4Runner, so she's set. It's crazy man, I still like driving it, but I just have no motivation to work on it any more. Not that it needs anything major, but I'd been trying to do little stuff to improve it, and now my priorities have totally changed. I NEVER could have anticipated this part of fatherhood, but I'm not complaining.

Hey Matt, great driver.

I think that I went through exactly what you are going through now and all I can say is that later, when things are more settled, your interest in other hobby things will return. You said that this car is your daily driver, so why can't you just drive it and not think about wrenching for a while?
