some good info on this page, i can't count how many times i've seen people make the classic mistake of arguing with the police on the side of the road to try to get out of the ticket, or getting tricked by the officer to admit they were going faster than the limit;

It's best to be familiar with the roads that you are going to speed on. Know where there are the steady curves, descents into curves and U-turns in the median.
For instance: I-5 Southbound: From Lacey down into Olympia to the 101 turn-off I-5 Northbound: I-5 at I-405, median U-turn spot on the left. Mount Vernon From the Starbird Road Overpass(look for the occasional trooper in SUV with radar "painting" southbound) down into Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon to Bellingham, Speed up to the (painted boulder on upper right) and let off once you leave the "mountain area" into Fairhaven. Then watch out onto curves out toward Ferndale past the airport.

recently, they've been parking a lot of construction vehicles in that area, so it's harder to see the cops hiding out behind them.

I just saw a cop on I-405 next to the 900 exit / maple valley highway acting like he pulled a truck over, clocking people (the truck was abandoned with a check mark on it)

Speeding on the freeways? Talk about high-risk and low return. It just ain't worth the tickets and it's really not fun. Stick to the windy back roads where you can have a lot more fun at much lower speeds. You won't have to worry about the speed traps. The risks for tickets, injury, and car damage are much lower. Unless you drive like an idiot.

You guys KILL me!
"how to beat a speeding ticket" My opinion...........ya gonna play..........ya gonna PAY. Accept it.........or buy an old YUGO, and drive that. ![]() WHEN, they FINALLY get me (haven't had a ticket since 1981)...........my reply to the cop will be..............WHAT TOOK YA SO LONG! NOTE: I RARELY drive the speed limit. I DESERVE a ticket, just about everytime I drive my car. No pansy driver here! Lets get real here.

well just so you all know in late june and july i started taking nize's advice and i beat 4 tickets for speeding. let see here 80+ in a 50 = $0,
55 in a 50 = $0, 88in a 70 while changeinglane eraticly= $0, 81in a 70 =$0. had i not listened to him i would have right there spent over $500 in fines not to mention my driving record and my inshurance premium. so dont just pay the ticket contest it. oh and also i dont use a lawer like some people i atually went to court and stood there. thanks nize

To each their own. If your gonna play, your gonna pay..........eventually, in one form or another. Think about it.

ronin,
all i did was show up i never even had to say a word in skagit county i guess the judge looks up the radar guns there for you. and most of the time the cops dont submit a statment unless the remember you. if they dont submit a statment it is dissmissed, if the radar gun is not calibrated correctly that day dissmissed, deploying for 6 months to afganistan and not being able to drive will dissmiss a ticket too. i used that one... no really for 3 of them i didnt say anything except i plead not guilty and thank you your honor. thats it. i know it sounds to easy but cops rely on peoples ignorance and it pays off if you just show up and say i plead not guilty. if by chance the gun was calibrated and the cop did write a statment you then get to tell your side of the story. ( be very convincing). but yeah untill nize told me to contest them i allways paid them now i will never not contest a ticket. it costs to much money, that and i am going to get a radar detector when i get back to the states.
