Are you actually going to go TO Laguna Seca? I'll be driving on the track there that weekend, along with 149 other PCA members. This is the weekend of round 3 of the Golden Gate Region Time Trial series.
You DEFINITELY have to stop by the track if you're in the area. It'd be blaspheme not to!!! ![]() Dean

I just looked at the schedule for the R-gruppe event (should have done this first) and it looks like the plan is for the group to come to the PCA event and do a parade lap on Saturday around lunch time. Also, it is listed as an "optional" event to come and watch the Time Trial on Sunday.
GGR has a "Taste of the Track" program where you can pay $20 (which goes to charity) to ride along for a lapping session with an instructor (in the instructor's car). I'm one of the instructors who can give rides - who's in?? ![]() Definitely come and find me or my wife - white cabriolet - car #908 Dean

for those that have Friday free................
Laguna Seca open Friday May 2nd. I talked with the promoter today and he said the 75 slots should be sold out within a week. Expect a minimum of 4-25 minute sessions on the Laguna Seca track. Beginners welcome, minimal safety equipment required. Make that 74 slots I just signed up for one of them. The cost, less than a 100mph speeding ticket or an exhibition of speed ticket. Cost $250 for all day Friday, +$40 to join this group if you are not a member. I noticed 3 weeks later another group is doing the same thing plus lunch for $450.... From the website........... Friday, May 2nd: Sedan-type cars, a no frills event. It’s just before the R Gruppe weekend and a PCA time trial at Laguna on the 3rd and 4th, which helps you if you're trying to get a leg-up on the competition that weekend. Hi Tom, well I'm home and my list is at work.. Participants from the Pelican Board is roughly 10 at most for now. People say their "in" then they email me that their out.. it keeps fluctuating..I have another 10 or so Neighbors a couple of guys from my work and a few Turbo Dudes form the Turbo Board. so if I was to venture a guess, with a little over a week till the run. I assume that number should hopefully reach 30 or so. Heck.. I did my job now it's up to everyone else to get the word out.. I know where I'm going to be on the morning of May 3rd, I hope I'm not alone.. thats all.
This is my first attempt at putting something like this together. I've been on many other organized runs and I have always had a great time. I'm actually having special decals made that I will be handing out to the Folks that show up. for their tool boxes, garage cabinets or maybe My other car type of decal. Edit: The Parade Lap is still in the works..but I have to say it is looking good.. it might have a charity contribution attached to it. So aside from the Parade lap, are the R-Gruppe guys going to be at Laguna Seca? My SC is still in pieces, but I was thinking of heading down Saturday to take some pictures and check things out.
The Schedule says BBQ from 1-3PM, is that at the track, or back in Monterey? Tom |

I'm sure the BBG is in Monterey. There's a PCA event at Laguna over the weekend, and I think the R Gruppe guys are just showing up for th parade lap, and then heading out.
There will be some R Gruppe guys (including me) at Laguna on Friday, when NorCal Racing is having a track day. Looks like there's going to be some rain on Friday and Saturday, though.

I heard attendance for the NCRC event on Friday is slim, so you'll get something like seven 30 minutes sessions (only 2 run groups!). Man I wish I could get out of work for the day!
See you guys on Saturday when you show up to the PCA event. I'll try to track you all down before your Parade Lap. Hey Jack - got room in the passenger seat for the Parade Lap?? I'm dying to get (even a low speed) ride in BB2. Dean - car#908

Matt:
Its still on as far as I know, but Jorge will have to confirm. Weatherman says it may be raining on Saturday in San Jose - as long as its not a downpour in Monterey which will make it hard to walk around, I'm still going. I'm planning on checking the Laguna Seca website before I leave; I think they have a real-time weather report available. |

OK.. The The FUN RUN RALLY TO MONTEREY IS ON!! I checked the weather report and its just a "CHANCE" of showers in the AM and clearing through out the day.. I'd still bring an unbrella though.
Rain or Shine we are going!!! so plan on meeting at our designated place. Jorge (Targa Dude) |
