Show me pics of your long wheelbase soft window targas!!!

I know there aren't many out there, but I'd like to size up the universe. If you've got one, please post a pic. Thanks in advance!

1971 soft window targa

This car has been at Hershey for the past two years. This past year it sprouted a tail. Haven't decided if I like the tail or not?!
I've got a bunch of swb soft window targa pictures too!

I have to admit, the soft window has grown on me this last year, especially after seeing a couple in person @ the R-gruppe gathering.

Glad to know you are enjoying the pic's!

Rob,
I've got even more pictures, but they are on another computer. At one time or another over the course of 3-4 years, I considered the purchase of most of these cars. The one that truely broke my heart was the '67 irish green 911, shown with the rear window up and targa top on. It was one of the first soft window targas I found for sale. Flew down to Orlando to inspect the car, purchase it and hopefully drive it home. During the final inspection I found rust in the floor on the drivers side. We pecked at the rust and opened up a hole in the floor you could have passed a softball through. Owner didn't seem to be aware of the problem prior to my arrival, and wouldn't budge on price, so I sadly flew home empty handed.. Man, everything else about that car was sweet. The engine just purred at idle and growled at speed.
You'll eventually find what you are looking for. Have fun and Good luck!
Rock

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP WITH THESE SOFT WINDOW POSTS!

every time i tell myself "it's crazy, don't convert it" + "that is too much money" + "where will you get the parts?" + "wife will kill me (we all are adept at hiding our p-car costs from spouses so this is minor) someone goes and posts a string like this one. then i start looking around on ebay where someone has some old beat up rusty frame for sale. someone else has just the clips for sale and yet another has an old cracked window for sale with the caveat "just need to take to any sail shop and have the window replaced". THIS POST IS PARTICULARLY AWFUL BASED ON THOSE AWESOME LOOKING CARS! that and the fact that mine goes to bed saturday for 5 months depending on snow.

anyway, if someone does come up with that conversion kit i know i will be one to buy! cool cars, happy thanksgiving.

You certainly know how to torture a guy! I'm backed up on my engine rebuild due to other priorities (new job - need to make $$$, an unfinished bathroom remodel, obligations to the kids) and you dangle my dream car in front of me. I have just two words for you ... THANK YOU!! I have a smile that can't be wiped off my face looking at all these beautiful soft windows and can't wait to get back into the garage. My priority is to get the engine together and then put together the pieces I need for my conversion to a soft window. By next summer, the wind should be flowing freely through a certain '69 E in the Seattle area! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Regards,
