1970 E Targa
CAR IS SOLD
I listed my car about 2 months ago and got a few constructive comments but no takers. The price seemed too high was most common private feedback I got. I would much prefer to sell this terrific car to a fellow enthusiast so I'll try here again before I let the charlatans on eBay take a shot. This is an original equipment oriented car. Non original modifications were made only if they could be quickly returned to original condition. Records back to 1990. Here are a few highlights of the car to illustrate its condition: 1 The motor is a 2.7 RS style build from scratch on a 7R case by Otto in 2003. It now has 12,000 miles and well sorted out. This includes dyno tuned, no leaks, and new PMO carburetors. 2 A Carrera oil cooler was added to the front fender with the new motor. On the drive to PCA Parade the oil temps never broke 190 degrees. And it averaged 21.x MPG. 3 The 901 transmission was freshened at the same time as the above work. 4 The original 2.2E motor with MFI is in a crate and goes with the car. 5 Early leather sport seats redone by Auto's International in 2000. Targa top (never folded) done by Auto's in the same time period. 6 New dash with original (working) radio. 7 4 Deep 15x6 Fuch's refinished by Wheel Enhancement. The spare is also a deep 6 but needs refinishing. 8 S brakes, Bilstein shocks. 9 No known rust issues, and I look! I don't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. It has gone from Los Angles to Charlotte twice, to Rennsport II, and recently to PCA Parade in Hershey. While the paint reflects this, the car has never given a single problem. In addition to the car with the 2.7RS type motor and the original 2.2E motor with all MFI components the following also goes with the car: Original steering wheel, Complete owners manual, Custom floor mats, Car cover and Dash cover. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It all comes down to price, doesn't it? I will take a different, flexible approach this time. The car, compete with everything listed above is $30,000, or best reasonable offer. Option 1: Car complete as listed above EXCEPT I will replace the early leather Recaro's with a pair of cloth Recaro's out of a 1978 euro 930: $26,000. ![]()

Naparsei, do you want a picture of the dash or are you looking for a place to buy one? I will be happy to go through the PO's records and find out where he got it if that is what you need.

Halm,
Thanks. I know what the dash is supposed to look like, I just rarely seen one that actually looks that way. I'm interested in the latter - where the PO acquired the dash in the first place. BTW - not just a great looking car (love the color), but also a well written presentation. I hope you are upgrading. Thanks also for the help.

Naparsei, I didn't have time to look for the receipt, but I am very sure it was bought from Pelican. HTH

Halm,
I am not too sure Pelican sells dashes. I've looked before - maybe the new search engine is better. I know they sell dash caps, but I'm looking to completely replace the dash. Thanks for the tip, though. Your car looks great.

FWIW, my search on Pelican shows they sell them: $1,200. Best of luck.

I am interested in the leather Sports Seats if they are available or maybe the other seats, let me know what is available? If I was still in the market for a 911 I would be interested but just took on a new project.
thanks
